An Earth-Wide Safe Haven

Tropical Rain For Us is a community network that offers lands and shared resources as a safe haven for its members. We create nature preserves, support local businesses, and encourage community collaboration, while also providing tools for self-sufficiency to enhance global eco-awareness, resilience, and well-being.

A Nomadic Community:
What is it?

A nomadic community is a term we coined to describe a growing network of underused, lovingly acquired lands, developed as communal hubs for preserving nature, work, play, healing, and business. These spaces are collectively managed and governed by a shared vision: to see the Earth and all her inhabitants thrive in balance, peace, and harmony.
Achieving Our Vision
Our vision is realized through mutual support, fostering self-sufficiency together. By reconnecting with our indigenous heritage and regenerative practices, we strive for a right livelihood that is ethical, sustainable, and in harmony with our personal values, health, and the environment.

Our Path & Journey

Our journey began when we, the founders, left the United States to join a community of expatriates in Shashemene, Ethiopia. This land was granted by Haile Selassie as a gesture of gratitude for the support he received during World War II. It was there that we realized our work was not yet complete—there was still much to be done on this side of the world.

Part of that work involved creating a serene environment in our home country dedicated to regenerative living and the promotion of meditative, holistic health practices. We envisioned a village-like atmosphere, harmoniously integrated with nature-based technology, where individuals could reconnect with themselves and the earth.

That vision grew.

In 2022, we took a significant step towards this vision by purchasing plots of land in a developing community in Bull Bay, Jamaica - See below! Then, in the midst of 2024 we secured a location to host retreats and invite individuals to help maintain a potential food forest sanctuary.

Now, we are excited to invite you into this blossoming vision, where you can help us make otherwise baren or stifled lands well maintained community hubs.

The Invitation

We are inviting people who either have tropical land, are interested in living and farming on tropical lands, or simply want to responsibly invest in sustainable regenerative communities that put indigeneity, and spirituality at the center, to be a part of what we are organizing here.

Our intention is to protect as many lands as we can from further colonization to whatever degree we can, by creating spaces to do community healing, focus on our indigenous roots, ancestral practices, and means of maintaining order.

Tropical Rain For Us's founding sites are nestled in and around our ancestral, the ancient, Blue Mountains of Jamaica, where the Windward Maroons, led by the legendary Nanny of the Maroons, heroically defended their territory against the British for over a century. This historical backdrop enriches our connection to the land and inspires the spirit of resilience that guides our community.

The space where we’re launching operations from an example of what’s possible within our network: transforming raw, undeveloped natural settings into regenerative spaces. If you prioritize foundational principles, ecological harmony, and actions driven by unconditional love, join us in creating spaces that meet our collective needs and generate abundance to share far and wide.

On this site in St. Thomas, Jamaica, we have a variety of healing and musical equipment to support wellness and creative expression. This includes crystal singing bowls, instruments for music therapy, and tools for holistic practices such as Reiki. Additionally, our location boasts access to a further 26 acres in the mountains of St. Thomas. This extended land is rich with resources, including jelly coconut trees, pimento, mango, and lumber to be used responsibly, adding layers of opportunity for sustainable living and enterprise.
